Terms of Use
Last updated: 25 October 2026
- Split Mudra helps you keep track of shared expenses. It doesn't move money or hold it.
- What you add is yours. Be fair to the people you add to groups.
- Premium is bought, renewed and cancelled through Google Play or the App Store.
- Check the numbers that matter: the app is a record-keeping tool, not financial advice.
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal name of the business] ("we", "us"), which operates Split Mudra. By creating an account or using the app or splitmudra.com, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Split Mudra.
1. What Split Mudra is
Split Mudra is an app for recording shared expenses and payments between people, and working out who owes whom. It is not a bank, a wallet or a payment service. It doesn't send, receive or hold money. When you "settle up", you pay the other person yourself (by UPI, cash or any other way) and record that payment in the app.
Balances, splits, currency conversions and bill scanning are tools to help you. They depend on what people enter, and a scanned bill can be misread. Please check amounts before you rely on them. Split Mudra isn't financial, tax or legal advice.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Split Mudra.
- Give accurate details, and keep your email address or mobile number up to date. That's how you sign in and get your account back.
- Keep your sign-in details and your phone secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us straight away at support@splitmudra.com if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Groups and the people in them
- Everything added to a group can be seen by its members. Add only expenses, photos and messages you're happy for them to see.
- Add people only if they'd expect to be added: someone you actually share costs with. Don't add anyone to harass or embarrass them.
- Depending on a group's settings, other members may be able to add, edit or delete its expenses. The app keeps a history of changes.
- Disagreements about who owes what are between the people involved. We can't decide them, and we're not responsible for any debt between users.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add: expenses, notes, photos and messages. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people you share it with, only as needed to run Split Mudra. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for shared expenses that remain part of other members' records (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Split Mudra to:
- break any law, or record anything illegal;
- upload anything abusive, obscene, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- send spam, or misuse reminders, invites or messages;
- try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, interfere with the service, or copy, scrape or reverse-engineer the app;
- launder money or disguise where money came from.
We may remove content, freeze a group or suspend an account that breaks these terms, and report illegal activity to the authorities.
6. Premium and payments
- Split Mudra is free to use. Premium adds extra features for a subscription fee, shown in the app before you buy.
- Premium is bought through Google Play or the App Store, under their terms. They take the payment, renew the subscription automatically until you cancel, and handle refunds under their own policies.
- Cancel any time in your Google Play or App Store subscriptions. Premium stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Group plans cover the members included in them for as long as the plan is active.
- We may change features or prices for future periods. A price change applies only from your next renewal, after you've been told, as the stores require.
7. The service
We work to keep Split Mudra available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever shut Split Mudra down, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Split Mudra and delete your account at any time from Profile → Data & privacy. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a store subscription by itself: cancel it in Google Play or the App Store.
9. Our liability
Split Mudra is provided "as is". As far as the law allows:
- we're not liable for losses that come from what users enter, from disagreements or debts between users, or from your relying on a figure you didn't check;
- we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or lost profits;
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under Indian law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app before significant changes take effect. If you keep using Split Mudra after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first, since most problems can be sorted out quickly. If a dispute can't be resolved, the courts at [city], India, will have jurisdiction.
12. Contact and grievances
